Tauhid: a source of inspiration for gender justice

The essence of the religion of Islam is revealed in the humanistic values it embodies. The most complete expression of those values is the recognition by Islam of the fundamental equality and unity of all humanity. All human beings are considered equal because all are equally created by God. The only thing that differentiates one individual from another is the degree and quality of her devotion and obedience to God. And the only one capable of judging the quality of human devotion is God Himself.
